Hankook Tire to equip Perodua Axia and Bezza with Kinergy EX tires

Seoul, Korea, May 27, 2021 – Global leading tire company Hankook Tire will supply Perodua’s Axia and Bezza models with its Kinergy EX tires. The Kinergy EX, an all-season tire for everyday driving, will come fitted on the Bezza and Axia in the size 175/65R14T for the Axia and 175/60R15H for the Bezza.

Perodua is Malaysia’s largest car maker, which owns 51.5% of the market share in Malaysia, and also is Malaysia’s first and biggest Energy-Efficient Vehicle (EEV) manufacturer with Axia, a hatchback, as its first EEV model launched in 2014 and Bezza, a sedan, as its second launched in 2016. The two models are among best-selling vehicles in Malaysia, popular for daily use and as family cars. They are also in line with the global trend towards more fuel-efficient cars. Both Axia and Bezza surpassed the standard based on the regulation No 101 of the Economic Commission for Europe of the United Nations (UN/ECE).

This efficiency is enhanced by Hankook’s original equipment tires. Hankook’s Kinergy EX, an all-season tire that offers drivers impressive vehicle fuel efficiency and outstanding performance, is fitted to the 2021 Perodua Axia and Bezza ex works. The development focus for this tire has been to achieve total balance for everyday driving between the ride comfort, effective noise control, as well as good wear performance. The tread pattern of Kinergy EX, in combination with the high dispersion silica tread compound, not only ensures optimal braking performance and traction in wet conditions, but also reduces road noise as well as abrasion while lowering rolling resistance for fuel efficiency.

To ensure safe everyday driving, this robust all-rounder is equipped with a super strong carcass and bead wire. These features help prevent or reduce damage and provide improved durability. It also has wide steel belts in combination with extra hard bead filler for enhanced handling and steering performance. Furthermore, a Visual Alignment Indicator System has been applied to Kinergy EX to allow drivers to easily check vehicle alignment by comparing tire’s interior and exterior wear condition.
