Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Hankook Tire America Corp. and Hankook Tire Manufacturing Tennessee, LP treat personal information we collect from or about you where this Privacy Policy is posted or referenced. This Privacy Policy does not apply to other Hankook entities or on sites that contain a different Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is not a contract and does not create any legal rights or obligations. If you are a California resident, see Section 6 for information provided pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act.

1. We collect and use personal information from and about you

Hankook Tire America (and the vendors and other parties we hire to perform business functions on our behalf) may collect, receive, and develop several categories of personal information:

We collect Contact Information. We may collect your name, email address, social media handles, mailing address, and phone number.

We collect Purchase and Preference Information: We collect information about your purchases and your preferences.

We collect Internet and Network Activity Information: If you use our website, we may collect information about the browser you are using or your IP address. We might also collect device identifiers. We might look at what site you came from, or what site you visit when you leave us. We may collect page interaction information (such as what areas of the websites you visit and for how long, what search terms you enter, and what products or content you view and click on), and methods used to browse away from the page. We collect Location Information: We may automatically collect your GPS location, such as when you access our mobile apps or the mobile version of our websites. We also collect information about your general location, using your zip code or postcode and IP address.

We collect Employment-Related Information. When you apply for a job, we collect information you submit as part of your application and resume. This might include your work experience and previous employment, your education, the URL to your personal or professional websites, your workplace skill sets and certifications, whether you need a visa to work in the United States, and/or salary expectations.

We may collect and develop Inferences: Using the other pieces of personal information collected about you, we may draw inferences about you, reflecting what we believe to be your preferences, characteristics, predispositions, and attitudes.

3. We collect personal information about you from various sources

We collect personal information directly from you. We collect information if you sign up for an account, contact us, sign up for our emails or interact with our mobile apps. We also collect information if you make a purchase or if you apply for a job. We also collect any personal information you provide if you post a comment, leave us a message, make a request, or complete a survey.

We collect personal information from your devices. We (and our third party vendors) use tracking tools like browser cookies and web beacons to automatically collect information about you. We collect this information when you interact with our websites, mobile apps, our ads, and our emails that we or our vendors send to you. We may also passively collect location information from your mobile device using WiFi technology that you enable through our mobile apps. We may collect this information about you over time and across devices. We may have third parties collect personal information on our behalf in this way, too.

We get personal information from vendors we hire to work on our behalf. Vendors that host or maintain our websites and send promotional emails for us may give us information. We may also receive information from a job network or social network if you choose to import your information from those platforms when applying for a job with us. We may also aggregate your information with other consumers’ information to understand preferences and trends over time.

4. We share certain personal information

We will share your information with our parent company and affiliates. For example, your information may be shared to Hankook Networks Co., Ltd. to facilitate work activities and provide services on behalf of us.

We share your information with vendors who perform services on our behalf. We may share information with vendors who send emails for us, help us manage and operate our sites or mobile apps, fulfill purchases, provide advertising or marketing services, provide analytics and search engine support, track advertising impressions, investigate and prevent data incidents, audit our business and financial statements, vet job applicants, provide legal advice, and place our advertisements on other platforms.

We may share your information with our business partners and marketing companies. We might share information with third parties who co-sponsor a promotion or sell or develop our products. We might also share information with our distributors and dealers.

5. You have certain choices about how we use your personal information

You can opt out of receiving our marketing emails. To stop receiving our promotional emails, you can visit your account settings on the site or follow the instructions in any promotional message you get from us or email us at [email protected]. Even if you opt out of getting marketing messages, we will still send you transactional messages. These include responses to your questions.

You can control certain cookies and tracking tools.
We and third party advertising networks, social media companies like Facebook, and other companies may collect information about your use of our websites and apps over time both for analytics purposes and so that they or we may display interest-based advertising using information gathered about you over time across multiple websites or other platforms. Required web technologies and cookies make our website technically accessible to and usable for you.
This applies to fundamental base functionalities such as navigation on the website, correct display in your internet browser or requesting your consent.
Without these web technologies and cookies our website does not work.


2. Analytics Cookies

We want to constantly improve the user-friendliness and performance of our websites.
For this reason we use analysis technologies (including cookies) which pseudonymously measure and evaluate which functions and content of our websites are used, how and how often.
On this basis we can improve our websites for users and only display the content of interest to the average user.




3. Marketing Cookies

We use web technologies (also cookies) from selected partners in order to be able to show you content and advertising specially tailored to you on websites and social media sites. This content is selected and displayed on the basis of your usage behaviour to you across websites.

We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity prior to responding to your requests. The verification steps will vary depending on the sensitivity of the personal information and whether you have an account with us.

You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. When submitting the request, please ensure the authorized agent is identified as an authorized agent.

7. Our site is not intended for children

9. We may link to third party sites or services we do not control

If you click on a link to a third party site, you will be taken to a website we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the privacy practices of that website, which may collect information from you. Read the privacy policy of other websites carefully. We are not responsible for these third party websites or their policies.

We will make reasonable efforts to use the latest security technologies designed to help ensure that the information we collect about our users is secure. However, the Internet is not 100% secure. We cannot promise that your use of our sites or services will be completely safe. Any transmission of your data to our site is at your own risk. We encourage you to use caution when using the Internet.
