Hankook Technodome acquires Certification of Exemplary Laboratories in Safety Management from the Ministry of Science and ICT

Seoul, Korea, November 13, 2020 – Global leading tire company Hankook Tire’s state-of-the-art R&D center, Hankook Technodome, acquired a Certification of Exemplary Laboratories in Safety Management issued by the Ministry of Science and ICT. It’s the first time that a Korean tire company gained the certification.
The government grants the certification to laboratories that pass the assessment by experts in the field. The certificate program aims to strengthen the safety management capabilities of science and technology laboratories at research institutes as well as to discover and promote a standard model for laboratory safety management.
Hankook Tire applied for the certificate program in April this year with its Flat-trac CT+ Laboratory and Chemical Analysis Laboratory located at Hankook Technodome. The evaluation was carried out in September to examine various areas including safety system, related activities, and safety officials’ awareness on the issue, which led to both Flat-trac CT+ Laboratory and Chemical Analysis Laboratory being selected as exemplary laboratories in safety management.

Opened in 2016, Hankook Technodome is an eco-friendly, high-tech R&D center with state-of-the-art infrastructure. The facility stands on a massive floor space of 96,328m², with an R&D building six stories high including two basement floors and a residence building consisted of eight stories including one basement floor.
Hankook Tire is undertaking R&D innovation to continue delivering world-class technology and product quality, and Hankook Technodome is playing the pivotal role in strengthening the company’s R&D capability. Based on this, the company has expanded its strategic partnership with global premium car brands and is supplying Original Equipment Tire to approximately 320 models of 46 car brands, which prove the company’s technological leadership and the brand value.
