Hankook Tire’s Kinergy 4S 2 wins the Auto Express 2021 All-Weather Tire Test

Seoul, Korea, November 18, 2021 – Global leading tire company Hankook Tire’s all-weather tire Kinergy 4S 2 has won in the 2021 All-Weather Tire Test by Auto Express Magazine, the UK’s best-selling car magazine. Since 1998, the Auto Express tire tests have been seen as the benchmark for performance, safety and fuel-efficiency by consumers looking for independent tire advice.

In the tests, the Hankook Kinergy 4S 2 competed against eight other all-season tire brands in the popular 205/55 R16 size. Each tire was rated in a series of key performance assessments at proving grounds in Finland and Germany, including wet grip, dry grip, snow, noise, rolling resistance and price. Hankook’s all-season tire topped the table scoring 100 percent in the aquaplaning tests.

Announcing the win, Auto Express said “Hankook emerged as the overall winner, and its strongest performance came in aquaplaning, but it gave a good showing across the board, with little compromise. Kinergy 4S 2 maintains optimal performance even during volatile climate changes, ranging from rainy roads in the summer as well as snowy roads in the winter. The wide grooves in the middle of the tread allow increased safety when aquaplaning and the V-shaped interlocking tread blocks ensure good performance in the snow and good handling.

This is the second tire test win for Hankook’s Kinergy 4S 2 series this year, having recently also won the Auto Bild Allrad’s 2021 all-season SUV tire test with the Kinergy 4S 2 X. It adds significance that the Kinergy 4S 2 X was the only tire among competing tires that earned the highest possible ‘Outstanding’ rating. With such acknowledgment, Hankook Tire was named as Manufacturer of the Year 2021 in the Auto Bild Magazine’s All-Season tire category and also received a ‘Highly Recommended’ accolade from an England’s auto trade, the Tyre Reviews in its 2020 All-weather Tire Test.
