Seoul, Korea, January 3, 2022 – Model Solution (CEO: Byungil Woo), a subsidiary of Hankook & Company Group (formerly Hankook Tire Group) will showcase its cutting-edge technology at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022, the world’s largest consumer technology event to be held from January 5 to 8, 2022.
Model Solution is an innovative one-stop service provider specialized in hardware business from product design to mass production. It’s Model Solution’s second time participating in CES following last year. The event, which was held online last year due to COVID-19, will be held both online and offline in 2022 where Model Solution will operate its own exhibition booth to showcase its new products and latest technologies.
Model Solution plans to unveil two innovative products through this year’s exhibition. Augmented Reality Head Mounted Display (AR HMD), which made a debut at CES 2021 in a prototype version, will be showcased as a functional product this time. It’s an AR headset designed specifically for industrial use, focused on providing usability with comfort. Model Solution collaborated with Zinnotech, an AR software engineering company, to develop and mass produce the device.
Considering the field of vision is of the utmost importance in industrial sites, the positioning of the optical module and shape of the body were carefully designed. The orchestration for the design of simple and intuitive usability began in early stage, which resulted in receiving one of the world’s prestigious design awards, iF Design Award 2021.
In addition, for the first time globally, Model Solution will introduce a newly developed ‘XTA’. It’s a unique motion player that users can enjoy various digital content with the ultimate immersion and hyper-realism at home. Produced in collaboration with GAMA, a motion platform engineering company, the XTA offers various entertainment content from racing games to movies, videos, music, and live sports stream in 2 or 3 degrees of freedom (DoF) which indicates the degree of possible movement through three-dimensional space. This allows one to have an immersive virtual experience geared by motion platform technology in the midst of Metaverse boom.
Along with the two innovative products by Model Solution, high-fidelity prototypes of creative products designed by university students will also be exhibited. They have been selected through Model One Award (MOA) program which Model Solution launched in 2016 as part of its CSR initiative to support university students from prominent industrial design schools in the U.S. and Korea.
From this year’s MOA program conducted with Hongik University, a university widely known as the best design institution in Korea, three works with outstanding creativity and innovation were hatched: Harmony, an electric kickboard focused on improving wireless charging, safety, and portability, Calypso, futuristic AR glasses, and XETA, an electric hoverboard skateboard with a future-oriented look.
For CES 2022, 4,500 companies and institutions from over 160 countries around the world are expected to take part. Model Solution will show its advanced design capabilities reflecting the latest trends and insights of Color, Materials and Finish (CMF) obtained through extensive R&D.
“We are glad to participate in the CES for the second time to showcase new innovative products with our cutting-edge technologies,” says Byungil Woo, CEO of Model Solution. “This will ultimately help us fortify our brand positioning as a total solution provider with superb design, advanced engineering, high-quality manufacturing and hardware accelerating capabilities.”
